Fasto A754 – Flexible, High Chemical Resistant Pipe Thread Sealant

Fasto A754 is a single-component, high-strength, refrigerant-grade anaerobic pipe sealant designed for locking and sealing fine to medium pitch metal pipe threads. It cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces, forming a flexible, vibration-resistant, and leak-proof seal.

Engineered for highest chemical resistance, Fasto A754 provides an almost instant low-pressure seal and, once fully cured, seals up to the bursting pressure of the pipe, making it ideal for hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigerant systems.

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure threads are clean, dry, and free from dirt, oil, grease, and contaminants.
  • Proper cleaning ensures maximum sealing performance and cure speed.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto A754 to all engaged pipe threads.
  2. Assemble the joint and tighten to the specified torque within 4–5 minutes.
  3. Allow the joint to cure under anaerobic (air-excluded) conditions.
  4. Wipe off excess sealant from the outside of the joint.

Curing Guidelines

  • Fixture time: 6–8 minutes
  • Functional cure: 4–6 hours
  • Full cure: 12 hours
  • Low-pressure seal: Up to 2 bar in ~15 minutes
  • Maximum recommended gap: 0.25 mm
  • Pipe size: Up to Ø 3 inches

Additional Notes

  • Cure speed depends on temperature, bond gap, and substrate.
  • At temperatures below 5°C, use Fasto AP49 Activator to accelerate cure (activator may reduce final strength by up to 30%).
  • On plastic-to-plastic joints, Fasto AP4 is recommended.
  • Not recommended for pure oxygen or chlorine systems.
