Fasto UVM21 – UV & Visible Light Curable Adhesive for Plastics

Fasto UVM21 is a single-component, low-viscosity UV and visible light curable adhesive that forms a clear, flexible, and non-yellowing bond upon curing. It is specifically formulated for bonding transparent plastics, with excellent performance on acrylic sheets (PMMA) and other clear polymer substrates.

Its low viscosity allows the adhesive to spread quickly and uniformly, ensuring high precision and optical clarity—making it ideal for medical devices and signage applications where appearance and accuracy are critical.

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, and grease.
  • Protect the adhesive from premature UV exposure before curing.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto UVM21 to one bonding surface only.
  2. Assemble and position the parts accurately.
  3. Expose the entire bond line to UV or suitable visible light to initiate curing.
  4. Ensure complete exposure for uniform cure.

Curing Guidelines

  • Fixture time: 5–20 seconds (depending on light intensity)
  • Typical depth of cure: ~2 mm
  • Greater depths (up to 8 mm) achievable with high-intensity UV lamps and longer exposure
  • Designed for closely fitting joints

Additional Notes

  • Sunlight can cure the adhesive, but UV lamps are recommended for controlled, repeatable curing.
  • Dispensing systems must use black, UV-opaque tubing to prevent premature curing.
