Fasto A475 – Medium Strength Anaerobic Flange Sealant Liquid Gasket

Fasto A475 is a single-component, medium strength, anaerobic liquid gasket compound specially designed for sealing horizontal and vertical rigid metal surfaces. It cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting flat metal surfaces, forming a durable, vibration-resistant, and leak-proof seal.

Its thixotropic formulation ensures controlled application without run-off, while delivering an almost instant low-pressure seal (up to 0.5 bar in ~15 minutes), allowing early on-line pressure testing.

Fasto A475 cures very quickly on steel surfaces, making it ideal for OEM production lines and maintenance operations.

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, and contaminants.
  • Trials are recommended to confirm whether additional cleaning is required.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto A475 evenly to all engaged sealing areas.
  2. Assemble parts immediately to exclude air from the joint.
  3. Tighten fasteners as per assembly specification.
  4. Allow curing under anaerobic (air-excluded) conditions.
  5. Wipe off excess material from outside the joint.

Curing Guidelines

  • Fixture time: 5–15 minutes
  • Low-pressure seal: up to 0.5 bar in ~15 minutes
  • Full cure: 10 hours
  • Maximum recommended gap: 0.25 mm

Additional Notes

  • Cure speed depends on temperature, bond gap, and substrate.
  • At temperatures below 5°C or on inert metals, use Fasto AP49 Activator (may reduce final strength by up to 25%).
  • Anaerobic products are not recommended for pure oxygen or chlorine systems.
  • Not recommended for certain plastics due to possible stress cracking.
