Fasto A333 – Super High Strength Anaerobic Retaining Compound

Fasto A333 is a single-component, super-fast curing, super high-strength anaerobic retaining compound designed for permanent locking, retaining, and sealing of cylindrical metal assemblies. It cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces, delivering exceptional strength, thermal resistance, and long-term reliability.

Fasto A333 is specially formulated to augment press-fit and slip-fit assemblies, making it ideal for power transmission components where mechanical load and vibration resistance are critical.

Key Features

  • Super High Retaining Strength
Shear strength up to 40 N/mm² for heavy-duty assemblies.
  • Anaerobic Cure Mechanism
Cures only in confined metal joints, preventing premature curing.
  • Fast Fixture Time
Achieves handling strength in less than 5 minutes.
  • Excellent Heat Resistance
Continuous service up to 175°C and intermittent exposure up to 210°C.
  • Gap Filling Capability
Suitable for gaps up to 0.25 mm.
  • Corrosion Protection
Prevents fretting and corrosion between assembled parts.
  • Lubricating Effect During Assembly
Allows easy part positioning before cure.

Benefits

  • Permanently locks and retains cylindrical components
  • Enhances load-bearing capacity of press-fit assemblies
  • Eliminates the need for mechanical locking methods
  • Reduces vibration-induced loosening
  • Ensures long service life in demanding industrial environments

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure parts are clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, and contaminants.
  • Cleaning is critical to achieve maximum strength and reliable curing.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto A333 evenly to all engaged areas of the assembly.
  2. Assemble parts immediately.
  3. Allow the joint to cure under anaerobic conditions.
  4. Wipe off any excess adhesive from the outside of the joint.

Curing Guidelines

  • Fixture time: < 5 minutes
  • Full cure: 8 hours
  • Maximum recommended gap: 0.25 mm

Additional Notes

  • Cure speed depends on temperature, bond gap, and substrate type.
  • On inert metals (stainless steel, zinc-plated parts) or at temperatures below 5°C, use Fasto AP49 Activator to accelerate cure (note: activator may reduce final strength by up to 30%).
  • Not recommended for certain plastics due to possible stress cracking.
