Fasto S860 is a one-part, neutral cure, non-corrosive RTV silicone sealant developed for durable sealing, bonding, and glazing applications across industrial, electrical, automotive, and construction sectors. Its neutral cure chemistry ensures safe application on metals and sensitive substrates while offering excellent resistance to environmental exposure.

Surface Preparation

  • Clean surfaces thoroughly to remove dust, oil, grease, rust, scale, and contaminants.
  • Use a suitable Fasto cleaner for best adhesion results.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto S860 using a manual or pneumatic dispensing gun.
  2. Extrude a continuous, uniform bead onto the prepared surface.
  3. Assemble or tool joints immediately to avoid premature skin formation.
  4. Remove excess sealant using a suitable cleaner.

Construction Joint Sealing

  • Ensure joint surfaces are sound, clean, and dry.
  • For large joints, use a backer rod or bond breaker tape.
  • Use masking tape for clean edges and remove it after tooling and before skin formation.

Curing Information

  • Skin formation: 15–25 minutes
  • Tack-free time: 25–35 minutes
  • Full cure: 24 hours
    (Cure time varies with humidity, temperature, and joint depth)
