Fasto S985 – Automotive Grade, Flange Silicone Sealant

Fasto S985 is a one-part, high-performance, heavy-duty RTV silicone sealant formulated for demanding mechanical, automotive, and industrial sealing applications. Its neutral cure, non-corrosive, low-odor, and high oil-tolerant formulation ensures reliable performance even in oil-exposed and high-temperature environments.
The non-slumping property allows easy application on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.

Surface Preparation

  • Clean all surfaces thoroughly to remove dust, oil, grease, rust, scale, and contaminants.
  • Use a suitable Fasto cleaner for optimal adhesion.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto S985 using a manual or pneumatic dispensing gun.
  2. Extrude a continuous, uniform bead onto the prepared surface.
  3. Assemble the mating parts immediately to avoid premature skin formation.
  4. Apply sufficient material to ensure proper sealing.
  5. Remove excess sealant after assembly, if required.

Curing Information

  • Skin formation: 20–25 minutes
  • Tack-free time: 30–40 minutes
  • Full cure: 24 hours
    (Curing time depends on ambient temperature, humidity, and joint thickness.)
