Fasto SM30 – Solar Grade, Frame Silicone Sealant

Fasto SM30 is a single-component, moisture-curing, neutral-cure RTV silicone sealant designed for long-term sealing and bonding applications where durability, flexibility, and environmental resistance are critical. It is UL-certified, PV-grade, and non-corrosive, making it ideal for demanding industrial and solar applications.

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, rust, or loose particles.
  • Clean surfaces using a suitable Fasto cleaner for optimal adhesion.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto SM30 using a manual or pneumatic dispensing gun.
  2. Extrude a continuous, bubble-free bead with consistent pressure.
  3. Assemble or tool the joint immediately before skin formation.
  4. Remove excess sealant using a suitable cleaner.
  5. For neat joints, use masking tape and remove it before skinning occurs.

Joint Design Guidelines

  • Suitable for gap filling up to 7 mm
  • For joints wider than 7 mm, use a backer rod or bond breaker tape
  • Avoid fully confined joints, as curing requires atmospheric moisture

Curing Information

  • Skin formation: approx. 8 minutes
  • Full cure: 24 hours (depends on humidity, temperature, and joint depth)
