Fasto S970 – Neutral Cure Industrial Grade RTV Silicone Sealant

Fasto S970 is a one-part, all-weather, highly flexible, neutral cure RTV silicone sealant designed for industrial sealing, bonding, and glazing applications. Its non-corrosive formulation ensures compatibility with sensitive substrates including galvanized steel, zinc-coated metals, aluminum, concrete, composites, and electrical components.

Surface Preparation

  • Remove rust, dust, oil, grease, release agents, and contaminants.

  • Clean surfaces using suitable Fasto cleaner if required.

  • Ensure surfaces are dry and structurally sound before application.

 

 

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto S970 using a standard cartridge gun or suitable dispensing equipment.
  2. Assemble parts immediately to avoid skin formation before bonding.
  3. Apply sufficient quantity to ensure complete sealing.
  4. Remove excess material using appropriate tooling methods.

 

Curing Information

  • Skin Over Time: 15–25 minutes*
  • Tack Free Time: 25–35 minutes*
  • Full Cure: 24 hours*
  • Hardness: Shore A ~24
  • Operating Temperature: -24°C to 175°C

 

Joint & Sealing Guidelines

  • Ensure joints are clean and free from oil or contamination.
  • For large construction joints, use backer rod or bond breaker tape.
  • Apply masking tape for neat finishing and remove before skin formation.
  • Not suitable for continuously submerged applications.
  • Avoid application on frost-laden or wet surfaces
