Fasto S982 is a one-part, high-performance, neutral cure RTV silicone sealant engineered for demanding industrial sealing, bonding, and glazing applications. Its low-odor, oil-tolerant, and non-corrosive formulation makes it ideal for use in mechanical, electrical, and automotive environments where exposure to oils, temperature extremes, and vibration is common.

Surface Preparation

  • Clean all surfaces to remove dust, grease, oil, rust, scale, and contaminants.
  • Use a suitable Fasto cleaner for best adhesion results.

Application Method

  1. Apply Fasto S982 using a manual or pneumatic dispensing gun.
  2. Extrude a continuous, uniform bead onto the prepared surface.
  3. Assemble components immediately to avoid premature skin formation.
  4. Tool joints, if required, before skin-over time.
  5. Remove excess sealant and masking tape before skinning occurs.

Curing Information

  • Skin formation: 15–25 minutes
  • Tack-free time: 25–35 minutes
  • Full cure: 24 hours
    (Curing time depends on humidity, temperature, and joint depth)
