Fasto A162 – Reliable Threadlocking for Heavy-Duty Industrial Fasteners
Fasto A162 is a high-strength, anaerobic threadlocker designed to lock and seal medium to coarse threaded fasteners. It cures in the absence of air when confined between close-fitting metal surfaces, forming a strong, vibration-resistant bond that prevents loosening, leakage, and corrosion.
Its thixotropic, slightly oil-tolerant formulation allows dependable performance on “as-received” parts while preventing run-off, dripping, and migration after assembly—ideal for demanding industrial environments.
High Strength Threadlocking Breakaway and prevailing torque up to 25 Nm (M10 steel fasteners).
Anaerobic Cure Technology Controlled curing only within metal threads.
Slight Oil Tolerance Bonds lightly oily parts; best results on clean substrates.
Thixotropic (Non-Drip) Stays in place on vertical and overhead assemblies.
Wide Operating Temperature Range -50°C to +150°C continuous service.
Corrosion Protection Prevents rust and fretting on assembled fasteners.
Red Colour Easy visual identification of high-strength locking.
Benefits

Seals out moisture & contaminants
Medium & Coarse Thread Applications
Larger fasteners with wider gaps
Consistent locking performance
Thixotropic – no run-off or migration
Surface Preparation
Ensure threads are clean, dry, and free from heavy oil or grease.
While oil-tolerant, clean substrates deliver maximum strength.
Application Method
Apply Fasto A162 to all engaged threads.
Assemble the fastener and tighten to specification.
Allow the joint to cure under anaerobic (air-excluded) conditions.
Wipe off any excess adhesive from outside the joint.
Curing Guidelines
Fixture time: ~15 minutes
Full cure: 24 hours
Maximum gap fill: 0.25 mm
Additional Notes
Cure speed depends on temperature, bond gap, and substrate type.
On inert metals (e.g., stainless steel, zinc-plated) or at temperatures below 5°C, use Fasto AP49 Activator to accelerate curing (may reduce final strength by up to 30%).
Not recommended for certain plastics due to possible stress cracking.
